How to Solve “Address not Found” Problem | Email Address not Found Problem

You are reading this means you have faced the error saying Address not Found followed by “Your message wasn’t delivered to [email protected] Because the address couldn’t be found, or is unable to receive mail.” Read this article completely to learn how to solve this.

This problem arise because of two reasons:

  • Mistyped email address
  • Misconfigured MX Record

Solution:

The solution of this problem is really easy. First check either you have input the email address correctly. If you have mistyped the email simply correct it and done. But if you have input the correct email and still face this error then change the MX Record of your website to default.

Below are the some methods to change the MX Record on different hosting provider.

Hostgator

  1. Log into the Cpanel where your DNS is hosted.

    Note: If HostGator is not your DNS host, you will need to contact your DNS host for assistance with updating your MX records. You will need the IP address from your welcome email.

  2. Click the MX Entry icon.
  3. Select the problematic domain name from the drop-down list.
  4. Here are the rules for Local, Backup, and Remote. If you do not know, choose Automatically Detect Configuration and hit the Change button.
  5. Under “Add New Record”, enter mail.thedomainname.com (or whatever you were provided by the host) for the Destination value. Priority will normally stay equal to 0 [zero].
  6. Click the “Add New Record” button.
  7. Go to the cPanel Home and click the Simple DNS Editor icon.
  8. Select the same domain from the drop-down.
  9. Under “Add an A Record”, enter mail.thedomainname.com (or whatever you put for the MX Destination) in the “Name” field.
  10. In the “Address” field, enter the other server’s IP address.

    Note: If you are pointing your domain to HostGator you will use the IP address of server where you wish to receive your email, which is available in your welcome email for that server.

  11. Click the “Add A Record” button.
  12. Done.

GoDaddy

  1. Go to the DNS Management page.
  2. On the DNS Management page, in the Records section, click the Click pencil icon on existing MX records(pencil icon) next to MX.
  3. Make any changes to the record, and click Save when finished.

To change an MX record for domains registered at another company

    1. Log in to your My Products page.
    2. If you aren’t automatically directed there, make sure to select the My Products tab:

    1. From the top menu, click the DNS tab, and select Manage Zones:

  1. Enter the domain name you want to use and click Search.
  2. On the DNS Management page, in the Records section, click the Click pencil icon on existing MX records(pencil icon) next to MX.
  3. Make any changes to the record, and click Save when finished.
