The vertical axis of the Stacey Matrix can provide clarity about a project, while the horizontal axis shows whether or not the route must be traversed (to achieve the goal). There are four scenarios shown, ranging from “simple” to chaotic. This way the Stacey Matrix can tell each manager whether they have used the right project management methodologies in their ongoing projects.
